I lit the subject with three soft boxes to correctly light him so i could easily chroma key him in post production. I then shot him in front of a green screen with enough distance to not cast harsh shadows. When filming, I suited him up in a standard black suit and tie with black RayBans which is similar to the TV show. I do feel like I want to further look into this era and use some more styles in my future work.Īfter finding this, I decided to recreate the aesthetic of this by filming a college colleague and producing a short video inspired by Max Headroom and Eminem’s Rap God. I also did enjoy researching about a time that I am not linked to and trying to replicate a style was in some ways challenging. Overall, I feel that the contrast of my clips and original ones from the 80s link well together and contrasts very well together. A massive factor of my goals not being fully achieved is the fact that the timing was not great as I became very ill towards the end of the project and couldn’t attend college. To improve, I would have planned a lot better when making choices in how I moved forward and how I managed my time. Although it isn’t fully what I aimed to achieve, i feel that it has given a good representative of my end goal and also allows me to assess my work and move forward positively into my next project. I feel that although it is very simplistic, it is very fitting to the time frame that it is set in and is also very eye catching showing that it fits the brief very well. In addition, Eminem claimed a shot at redemption when he surprised everyone with a performance of his “Lose Yourself” at the OScar’s this year to commemorate the track’s win for Best Orignal Song for 8 Mile in 2003.This is my final video for Unit 12. The only other rap song to have 1 billion views or more is Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth’s “See Yu Again,” which boasts 4.4 billion views. It continues to prove to be a strong showing for Em this year as the milestone joins other accomplishments already achieved in 2020 as his Music To Be Murdered By surprise drop became his 10th consecutive No. “Rap God” now goes down as Eminem’s third video to hit one billion views, joining the company of his “Not Afraid” cut and the Rihanna-assisted “Love The Way You Lie,” which is inching closer toward 2 billion these days. Eminem launched the website in order to count towards the views that would reach the mark.

Directed by Rich Lee, the video featured an 80s aesthetic that parodied the Max Headroom character as Em laid siege to the title of his track. The clip, first released in November 2013, served as a teaser for the now multi-platinum Marshall Mathers LP 2.
